We are a group who enjoy singing for pleasure. We don't take ourselves too seriously! Our songs are guitar led and sometimes "a cappella".
We sing a variety of songs, including popular songs from the 1950's onwards, and some folk songs. Members are encouraged to make sugestions of songs they would like us to include.
The emphasis is definitely on having fun and we have no pretensions to be a choir - indeed, we are strangers to perfection!
In "normal times" we meet fortnightly on a Thursday morning, 10am - 12pm, at St Ambrose Parish Centre, Birmingham Road, Kidderminster DY10 2BY. See Map
The Parish Centre is behind the church and accessible from the passage at the side of the church or for car access through St Ambrose Primary School entrance in Leswell Street.
In 2021, during the continuing Covid situation, we are holding our fortnightly meetings on Thursday mornings by Zoom and we are now also holding some "Singing in the Garden" Sessions, which are an exciting new move forward!
To find the date of the next session, please check Thursdays on the Wyre Forest U3A Zoom Meetings Calendar
Here are some events we have held in the past:
Singing Workshop November 16th 2018
Around 80 of us gathered together at Franche Community Church for a Singing Workshop led by Hilary Davies, a Community Choir Leader. We all had a such a great time, Hilary makes singing so much fun! The harmonies we produced were amazing - we didn't know we could sing as well as that!
The Workshop was followed by a bufffet lunch, which was much enjoyed by everyone. It was a great day!
Macmillan Coffee Morning 2018
At our Satellites' Session on 20th September we raised an amazing £305 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Well done and many thanks to everyone who supported this event!
